Breast Cancer Screening:  More than Just Mammograms
necklace

Beaded Necklace for Breast Cancer Detection

This necklace is designed to help people understand the effectiveness of different breast cancer detection methods.  Each bead on the necklace represents the size of a lump that might be found during a self-breast exam, clinical exam or mammogram. Since breast lumps represented by the smallest bead can only be detected by routine mammography, the necklace's message is clear: Get a mammogram regularly.

For more information, contact the North Carolina Breast Cancer Screening Program at 919/966-7971 or send email to bcsp@unc.edu.
